IHaveADegreeInMarineBioBut
I've had this filter probably about 1.5-2 years but today I did a water change and it just didn't turn back on. I cleaned it and everything and got it to make a little noise, but I didn't want to take the risk of it dying overnight. I have a 10 gallon tank that's been running for a year and a half. I had the HOB filter for 10 gallons that came with the kit, but upgraded to a 20-30 gallon one when I got more fish. Now I just have one fish and coral with the 10 gallon filter running for now. All I have is carbon inside. Do you think my system would be okay on the 10 gallon filter or should I buy another 20-30 gallon one? Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
It should be just fine with a 10g filter provided there is enough flow for the tank. HOB filters are completely optional and a tank can be run with just a powerhead and live rock. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thank you. If I remember correctly, I think I just bought a bigger filter just to upkeep with the fish. Sad to lose all that coralline 😞 1 Quote Link to comment

Tired
Oh, lovely. See if you can get a battery-powered air pump, like for bait buckets. Quote Link to comment

Yeah I have one left over from when Sandy hit a few years ago. Luckily it was only out for ~an hour. Quote Link to comment
