My new clownfish finally ate a little of the Tetra Min Pro. The ph in the tank is at 8 and the nitrates are at 10 and the nitrates at 0. Is anyone familiar with commodity axis.com? I have one of their 11 gallon tanks which comes with an undergravel filter that the powerhead stops everytime a little piece of substrate gets caught in the impellor. It does come with a decent light hood for that tank that has two pl 18 watts, two blue and two white. I'm trying to get some green star polyps going with that light. I'm using a Skilter 250 without the carbon in the filter, just the fiber. I'm wondering if you can run without the fiber filter. The protein skimmer is on all the time, but the tank is only eighteen days old.

If you're using the undergravel filter that comes with that kit...I would remove it asap. It will cause trouble in the future. You could run the tank without the skimmer or filter pad if you wanted, though having the filter pad in there will help clear up the water.
