You need the parts, cut the metal frame to size, place together with the frame connectors, lay mesh over it, and then use the spline to push into the frame to hold down the mesh 1 1 Quote Link to comment

What are people using to hold in place? Tabs over the glass frame from the more expensive options? Quote Link to comment

FlytheWMark
I bought this from Amazon, pretty easy to cut and put together. It says IM but you could use it for most tanks. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BHB9533/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote Link to comment

I haven't had rust on mine after years of use. Quote Link to comment
billygoat
I used the DIY screen lid kit from Bulk Reef Supply to make mine. It comes with all of the equipment including a spline roller to put it together. The only other things you'll need are a set of clips (such as these) to hold the screen on top of your rimless tank and a saw to cut the aluminum frame to size with. Quote Link to comment
bruinhd
I honestly believe that you need two lids. The glass is sexy and you can have one cut at Ace Hardware for $9. But you also need a mesh top for use of an autofeeder for when you are out of town. The autofeeder can just drop pellets through the mesh screen. Just a thought. Quote Link to comment

Not seeing anything like that on the local HD website but I do on Hobby Lobby craft store site. All the mesh on HD site is pretty small window screen stuff. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Fabric-Sewing/Sewing-Quilting-Notions/Garment-Accessories/Mesh-Fabric/p/MF80852 Quote Link to comment
