Mgk201
I was hoping someone might be able to help me identify what this is on my coral? I just noticed it today while scraping algae. The rest of the coral looks great, but after doing some research I’m extremely concerned it may be the dreaded brown jelly disease. It’s the two small brown balls on the back of the coral, next to the hermit crab shell in the first picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Quote Link to comment
AquaNanoNZ
Looks to me like bubble algae, is it a firm ball? If it is don't push it too hard as if it pops the spores will be released and cause more to grow ! Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
Looks like red bubble algae to me too....maybe the color in the pic is funny and it's green, but still looks shiny like bubble algae to me. FYI, "brown jelly" is particular to Euphillia spp. corals as far as I know. Quote Link to comment
