D4rkAngel
Hi, I was wondering with that aquascaping if my flow will be good all around the tank ? I like to have 2 island nothing really fancy 🙂 I have the stock return pump of the IM fusion 20 and a MP10. I was wondering at the same time where to place my MP10 to have a good flow. Thank you 🙂 3 Quote Link to comment
xM3THODx
The combo of your return and the mp10 will provide enough flow around the islands, but no matter what there will always be a slow flow area where detritus may buildup. As far as placement...typically a third of a way down the surface of the water in the middle of either side panel. You can experiment where you feel you're getting the best flow pattern moving it a bit, there is no right or wrong. If you don't know about RFG(random flow generators) by vivid creative aquatics, have a look. They're nozzles for the returns that provide turbulent flow pattern without moving parts. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
D4rkAngel
The space between the glasses and all around the islands is OK ? I've heard about the RFG and i wanted to buy two of them but you need a high GPH ... My return pump is 326GPH so it will not be optimal 😞 Quote Link to comment

Well, i have an old scrubber that i might need to replace by a magnet one lol but i think yes it will fit, ill need to verify that when i get back home. Do you have any suggestion for a good magnet scrubber that is not to big ? This is the one i have. Quote Link to comment

It's a tiny tank (2.6G) For my larger tank I have a stick to attach the card too 😄 Magfloat and Flipper Cleaners seem to be popular 1 1 Quote Link to comment

How about the idea of adding one RFG to one and closing off the other? Just an idea to consider. Looking forward to your next step. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
D4rkAngel
I think I will keep my 2 nozzles. My Mp10 will do the job i think with the stock nozzles. Quote Link to comment
SliceGolfer
Flipper Nano is great for the IM 20. I have the Flipper and the Tunze Nano. I always use the Flipper. I have two MP10s, lower right and top left in tidal swell mode, bare bottom. Amazing at keeping detritus suspended. I find upper left worked great when I had one. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah i just saw that there is a nano version of the Flipper so nice ! Alright i will try to put my MP10 top left like right under where the water enter in the back sump ? What was the mode u were using when you had only one ? I see that you are using the inkbird ITC-308, do you like it and did you change the probe because i have read the probe that comes with it was not made to be in the water 24/7 and get defective by the time. So they are selling one that is made for aquarium. 1 Quote Link to comment
SliceGolfer
I put the MP10 to the front of the tank, about 3 inches below water line. I like tidal swell mode because of the random patterns. For the Inkbird, I took a 3 inch piece of 1/4” id clear vinyl tubing and filled one end with aquarium silicone to make a plug. Once dried, I coated the probe with silicone and pushed it into the tubing. I then added more silicone and plugged the other end, making it water proof. After it cured, I calibrated the Inkbird with a glass of ice water and trusted thermometer. 1 Quote Link to comment

Oh well, I already did put the mounting at and the MP10 at the back 😞 What power % were u using with 1 mp10 ? I was wondering the same thing with the stock pump for the power % and mode i think now I'm at 1.6 on Stream mode. Quote Link to comment
SliceGolfer
I run 50-60% on the MP10s. I don’t have many LPS. Quote Link to comment
