BillV
I live on Oak Island NC and I am setting up a 40 gallon reef Aquarium. I’m wondering about using the porous rock that washes up on the beach for my aquascaping. This rock resembles pumice and comes in many shapes and sizes and is very attractive. I would of course give it a good soak in fresh water and dry in the sun before using it and adding bacteria to the tank. Any ideas or suggestions? Quote Link to comment
Tired
Some photos might be good to figure out what it is. It sounds like volcanic rock from the description, which should reasonably be safe. I'd be a little concerned about pollutants, though- is the water there clean? Also, did you know your state is a natural growing place of Venus flytraps? They're from the Carolinas, with an introduced population in Florida. 1 Quote Link to comment
