kgb Posted September 17, 2002 Share Posted September 17, 2002 hey guys i just stared to make my sw and it is a 2 foot 20 gallon. ok my moms boyfriends is an electrican so i can get all the supplies free i just need to know what they are ok i got pc light last night and he bill(my moms boy) is going to get me the ballast in a few days could any one whos done it then could you give me some name or advice? ok but yeah the 2 bulbs i got yester day are "cool white"made by ge the name of the bulb is biax. the are number under this that go as F40/30BX/SPX35 any advice would be much appreciated Link to comment
Dave ESPI Posted September 17, 2002 Share Posted September 17, 2002 Wrong Spectrum they are 3600 K or 5500 K. ya need aquarium specialty bulbs or else yer tank will be too high in the Yellow/orange spectrum. Also, yeah PC ballast are common. Ya just have to know where to go. What wattage are those bulbs ? 13 ? reply awaited. Link to comment
