standard 15G tank on 3x3 IKEA KALLAX ?

i could not find a weight limit for the ikea kallax 3x3

anyone tried to use it as a stand?

I used the Besta for a fusion 20 , it held just fine.

This kallax has been used by others for aquariums that are smaller.

 

You could reinforce it with some 2x4's and paint them.

I "hacked" an Expedit to fit a window in my house and it held my 17g.  I put L-brackets on each outside corner and every other interior corner.  I also have two 17g on a Hemnes dresser with the L-brackets.  I however did not buy the Milf lamp as I didn't want to upset SanFran Rice O'Roni.

I’m using this exact Kallax for a 15g standard tank. 3 months in and it’s showing no signs of not enjoying the weight. Definitely brace the corners though. My kids love leaning up against the tank and the whole thing moves all over the place.

thought about it, bracing with 2x4s but it might defeat the purpose and now thinking about just making everything with 2x4s
