colinlevy
So I have read 100 different websites with 50 different ways to treat Brooklynella. It seems the best is to use Formalin, but I have to order it online and with it being the weekend, I don't think I will see it until Tuesday at the earliest, so just trying to find what to do for the next 4 days. I just setup a QT for my 2 clowns showing signs (doesn't look early on either), but had a few questions about what I can do to help them now. 1. Most things I read said a FW dip (5 minutes or so) will give them temporary relief, so I think I will start there? 2. Would I want to add a filter from my current tank to the FW to help cycle it as I just setup the QT minutes ago? Or is that a bad idea because of the Brooklynella in my main tank? 3. I Seachem ParaGuard on hand, and the LFS said you can dose this daily in your QT as a temporary measure, accurate? Thanks again for the help. Quote Link to comment
Humblefish
1. A 5 min FW dip will provide temporary relief for brook: https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/401919-freshwater-dip-fish-treatment-information/ So would Ruby Reef Rally: https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/401832-acriflavine-fish-medication-information/ Or even Hydrogen Peroxide: https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/405330-hydrogen-peroxide-fish-treatment-information/ 2. I would probably avoid adding anything from your DT to the QT, as that will just add more parasites. 3. IME; ParaGuard isn't consistent/reliable enough to be counted on. After performing one of the above dips/baths, I would dose Seachem Metroplex in your QT every 48 hours for at least 10 days. That should eliminate whatever brook parasites remain in the QT. 1 Quote Link to comment
