Christopher Marks
What kind of filtration does your aquarium run? Any filter media in use? What is your water source when you replace water during a water change? Quote Link to comment
RyvBoy
Tunze 9004 DC Using carbon right now as filter water source from reverse osmosis Quote Link to comment
William
You can dose potassium nitrate to bring your nitrate level up. “Tree stump remover” on amazon is potassium nitrate keeping your nitrate in the 1-5 (ideally 1-2) range is best IMO. Quote Link to comment
RyvBoy
how much should I bring up the nitrate? thanks Quote Link to comment
SliceGolfer
New tank jitters for certain. My tank just hit 4 months and I finally can go a week without scraping the glass. 2ppm Nitrate is fine. It’s measurable, meaning you have extra nitrate that isn’t being consumed by corals or algae. 0.3ppm Phosphate is on the higher side. If I was trying to lower P04, I would do it slowly, with absorption pads or Chemipure blue. And I would target 0.1 max. We don’t know your tank or livestock, so any recommendations are premature. I would say that a DKH of 7.3 and Mag of 1170 are on the low side. Again, each tank is different. More information and your tank goals will help with the discussion. 2 Quote Link to comment

Gravity
You could also use some granular ferric oxide (GFO) to help remove the phosphates. Quote Link to comment
