DOJOLOACH
So ive set up a 40g reef and done pretty well with a 10g sump, skimmer, carbon reactor, and a nice sbreef led. Could i get by with a HOB aquaclear filter or two on a 55g? And a cheap basic marine led light? Still new to the hobby but wanted to doublecheck. I want a smaller moray eel, maybe a trigger or frogfish too Quote Link to comment
Clown79
My first tank was a 55g. I ran 2 hob filters on it but then replaced 1 with a skimmer. My nutrients weren't high with either setup. I was told I needed the skimmer. I'd recommend the seachem tidal filters. They are a bit more in cost but a great choice. The media basket is large allowing you to customize it easily. The flow is fully controllable, sicce pump is silent, and it has a surface skimmer which really helps keep the surface clean. Any light will work for fish only. No special needs there. 1 Quote Link to comment
