TIM28GBOW Posted September 28, 2004 Share Posted September 28, 2004 I have a crevice in my rock where two snails seem to spend the whole day. today i noticed a large worm or part of a brittle star but im not sure. only about an inch or so comes out where i can see and it looks brown and has some green in it prob 1/4 inch in width could anyone identify this.. only pic i could get thanks Link to comment
shutterbuggy Posted September 28, 2004 Share Posted September 28, 2004 Are you sure that it is a worm? It looks remarkably similar to a Chiton. One way you can tell for sure is if you manage to get a better look at it. Chitons are most active at night when the lights have been off for a few hours. If you can, get a full body look at it. If it has about 8 horizontal segments separating it's body it could be a chiton. If its not a chiton-- at least you have eliminated one possibility. Good Luck! BTW--Chitons are OK in reefs. Link to comment
