billygoat
This coral came in on my Gulf of Mexico live rock, and I've been trying to figure out what it is for a couple of months now. My best guess is that it's a cup coral from the genus Phyllangia, but it's quite small so it could easily be something else. Anyone have any insights? Quote Link to comment
Rob22
I’m pretty sure you’re correct. Looks like Phyllangia Americana or common name is hidden cup coral. Nice score. 2 Quote Link to comment
billygoat
That would explain why it's not growing very much: it's ahermatypic! 😄 I guess I should start feeding it more! Quote Link to comment
Belikin
Thanks for posting this. I have a few of these in my tank and wasnt sure what they were. Quote Link to comment
billygoat
Seems to be quite a hardy coral, as I've had it in the brightest part of the tank (in the beginning I just assumed it was photosynthetic 😅) with no supplemental feeding for more than three months, and it still seems to have made some slow progress on growth. Hopefully I can get it to start growing faster with spot feeding now that I know what it is. Quote Link to comment
