rcar1046 Posted September 26, 2004 Share Posted September 26, 2004 My tank is fully cycled. I've decided I'd like to break up some of the larger pieces of my LR that's in the aquarium. There is nothing in the aquarium other than the LR and substrate right now. Will there be any problems associated with removing the LR to break it into smaller pieces then putting it back in the tank? Link to comment
Sushi Posted September 26, 2004 Share Posted September 26, 2004 try to minimize the time it is out of the water, or find a way to keep it moist using towels while you're breaking it apart. i believe the bacteria starts to die after a couple minutes of being out in the air. i'm not 100% sure about that, but to be safe, keep it moist, and break up the rocks as quickly as you can!
