My Zoas have a bald spot??

Hey everyone - wondering what could be the cause of this spot on my zoa frag.

 

When I purchased the frag late last week, there area without polyps was there, but just recently has turned white. As you can see in the photo, it is almost like little white spores. 

 

Any idea what could cause this and how I can treat it?

Also, as you can see, whatever is wrong is causing the polyps to stay either completely or partially closed. This is a new development as of yesterday.

The picture is a little blurry where the bald spot is, I can't see those white spots too well,but look up zoo pox and see if it looks like that.

Not able to see it in the picture but I'm going to guess it's a sponge.  If it is, some of them choke out polyps but can be easily cut out with an xacto knife.

Here is photo today without the light. Hope this helps. This doesn't look consistent with anything I'm seeing on zoa pox. If you do think it is a sponge, anywhere someone can point me on the steps to take to remove it?

Kinda looks like coraline that's dying.

What are your tank parameters testing at right now?  (Ca, alk and mg.  And no3 and po4 too.) 

 

How old is this tank?  Any other corals?
