grayish tentacles on skirt.......

grayish tentacles on skirt of my zoos or button polyps. How can you tell the difference the lfs said they where buttons but they look like zoos? Well anyways some of the tentacles get like they look deadish all grayish and blackish is this normal?

button polyp = zoo or paly. usually zoo, but i've seen paly's occasionally referred to as button polyps.
