Bluedeuce
The bait store down the road on the ocean has a 150' well that supplies his live shrimp tanks. Is there any reason I can't use this water for my 45 gal tank? I know he has "wild" sea horses that he's kept alive for months now so I was thinking that's a good indication it's feasible. seabass
Welcome to Nano-Reef.com. Not knowing the quality of the water, I'd think you'd need to filter it at the least (maybe even run through a UV sterilizer). I know a number of people that live on the ocean that insist on using purified water and salt mix, to ensure consistency and quality. 3 Quote Link to comment
deetu
I live a block from the ocean and opted to mix my salt mainly because of any problems that may be in the water. Bacterial, worms, etc. I read somewhere that if you took water, to take it from farther out away from land. Then use bleach to kill anything then declorinizer to make it right before using. Yep... mixing salt 1 Quote Link to comment
