corals in rhode island????

I am visiting a friend next weekend and she tells me that in the bay next to her house there is rose coral, shrimp, clams and snails. I was wondering if anyone here knows if the rose coral is legal to take. I would susprect that it is not but maybe I'm wrong. I atleast hope to gather some snails for my mantis.

If you were to take temperate species then you would need to keep the tank at lower temperatures with a chiller. Not much is known on their care since very few people do it. I don't know about their legality though. Just saying that they probably wouldn't do well in a tropical environment.
