Halo m80 basic for a im peninsula 14

Is this too much light for my tank?

 

I've read that this can be run off other controllers instead of a slave off of a regular m80, but I can't really find any information about what will properly run it. 

 

Am I better off putting this thing back in the box and waiting for a new tank buld, or should I find a way to control it.

I think you should be okay if you can find a way to control the light. I haven't seen too many people running them on the forums.
