Paladin
I have an orange sun coral, and I noticed that it is releasing these tiny, pin-head sized orange balls. I saw them floating around the tank, but didn't know what they were, then I noticed that they are coming out of the mouths of my sun coral. Does anyone know what they are? Are they waste products? Paladin
Will do! I have all these various corals in my tank, but I totally take care of the sun coral like it's a fish, with all its special feedings. Link to comment
Cain
Unless you have another sun coral in your tank that in male, then no new corals will appear, they both need to be releasing fertilizing at the same time. Good Luck! Link to comment
Fant
actually they can and will settle and grow into new colonies its called asexual planulae. corals like tubastrea and pocillopora do this all the time. Link to comment
MarLooney
fant is right. i had it happen in my tank. tons of babies everywhere... especially by the colony. most didn't make it because of the large ammount of food needed, but it was cool while it lasted. there are still a few babies alive that i can find.
