Green Banded Goby Shortage?

Is anyone else seeing a shortage or having issues trying to buy Green Banded Gobies?  None of my LFS stores have them within a 2 hours drive.  Also most of the big name online retailers are out of stock also.  Has anyone heard or know anything about this?

It depends where the stores suppliers get them from.

 

We rarely get them here. I've only seen it once in a store 

 

I wanted a midas blenny and told I couldn't get 1 till Oct due to shipments from Africa being limited due to the high temps.

some fish are more seasonal in nature vs others, could just be the wrong time of year.

I believe they are native to the Bahamas area.  This is very close to the United States so I wouldn't think shipping would be a major issue.  But I could be wrong.

I haven’t seen them in years but I just bought 5 today at a good price too. So maybe now is a good time. A different Lfs said they could get them for me if I wanted.
