THEBOOM1011
I have a 29g FOWLR tank that has 1 chromis in it. He/She mostly stays at the bottom of the tank. I cant see any visible things wrong with it. It isn't gasping or going on its side and it also goes up to eat food on the surface of the water but often misses and it ignores food that are drifting along the water column. The tank is about 8 months the readings I got for Ammonia: 0.15 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 2 ppm Phosphate: 0.15 ppm Temp: 77F Salinity: 1.027 pH: 8 Thank you Quote Link to comment
Euphylin me
is this chromis new or have you had it for a bit?.....ammonia in a tank are never a good thing...was this measurement right after you fed? Quote Link to comment
THEBOOM1011
I've had it for a bit about 2 months after I started the tank. The tank was extremely unkept on my part and I recently on Friday did a 50% water change. I wonder if he's doing this because of the change in water parameters maybe. Any help will be appreciated. Euphylin me
yea that can happen, especially if your water was a different temp, raise in ph, etc. how long has this been going on for? Quote Link to comment
THEBOOM1011
Ever since I changed the water which was Friday. Is there something that I can do to help him or do I just wait it out and hope for the best. Quote Link to comment
Euphylin me
i would stick it out, maybe dim the lights for him and keep trying to feed at least once a day. add some ammonia reducer if you can (the ammonia is not good) Quote Link to comment
