Cooling fans or not?

I'm building a hood for my 29gal tank and I'm going to put an AHS 2x55 fixture in it. I plan mounting the ballast on the back of the stand to isolate it from the moisture and humidity of the hood. I also plan on cutting some vent slots on the lid of the hood (two or three, 3/4" wide by 22" long) The back of the hood is entirely open and there will be an acrylic panel about one or two inches below the lights to protect them from any splashing that may occur. Will I have to mount cooling fans in the hood or will the vent slots be enough to release the heat?

Thanks

i think that would be a trial and error sort of process... unless someone else has that exact set-up and can chime in.... who knows... You can't go wrong with fans, it's nice to have the piece of mind that your tank will never over heat, and with a heater, never be too cold.
