Sjlawgirl
This came as my freebie coral with my green BTA. Any idea what it is? I nees ro know if my tank is right for it or if I should find it a new home. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
paneubert
Sort of looks like duncans/elegance. Are those two big polyps skeletonized most of the way up? Quote Link to comment
Sjlawgirl
Its def not a duncan. The "stalks" are bony with jagged crown-like tops/rims and soft polyps sprouting out. Its been in the tank only a day so it may not be fully settled an open yet. Quote Link to comment
paneubert
Well that description still sounds like a duncan to me. Haha. Could be frogspawn or torch I suppose..... 1 Quote Link to comment
Jono
Sounds and looks duncany to me, too. Quote Link to comment
Sjlawgirl
All the images I can find of duncans with closed polyps have smooth edges. These are sharp pointy crown-like all the way around the rims. Looks nothing like any duncan I have had or seen before. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
I believe Duncan edge is rounded and not a jagged crown. I'd say frogspawn. The tentacles are to small for hammer. 1 Quote Link to comment
Frag Factory
It's a Duncan, they have a hard skeleton Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Under side of my Duncan colony. Looks more rounded skeleton than the ops' Quote Link to comment
Sjlawgirl
I guess I will have to see once it fully opens. It does look a lot like galaxea actually. I had a frag with MUCH smaller branches...that I couldn't keep alive. Hope this one does better...whatever it turns out to be. Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Galaxea If it is, they are beautiful but they have really long sweepers and may not be good for a nano. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Euphillia family (maybe Torch). Quote Link to comment
