Where/How many/What size Shells for Hermit Crabs?

Hello! I went ahead and bought 4 blue legged hermit crabs for my 10 gallon nuvo tank.

 

Where/How many/What size Shells for my blue legged Hermit Crabs should I get?

 

I see reefcleaners has stuff, but I'm not sure which package and how many to purchase to avoid having my snails killed for their shells.

My blue legged prefer the stocky cerith shells.  Just get a variety of shells of different sizes.  You can even go to a local art supply place like michaels, just make sure the shells are not painted or treated, and rinse them.

 

Or ask your local LFS where you got the hermies from to give you some shells for em.

They like shells from ceriths, nassaurius, and margarita snails.

 

Mine  leave the trochus and Astrea shells empty.
