phergus_25
if it's the big range thing it's a kind of SPS and your lighte need to be good to keep em alive Link to comment
trmiv
Odd, looks an awful lot like a Montipora Digitata (SPS coral), but it looks encrusted to the rock. Is it actually encrusted all the way up, or is that just a trick of the picture? Link to comment
brahm
yea thats a montipora digita, and you can keep those under pc. Link to comment
xtremeyolks
Yes, it's encrusted to the rock on the top, part of the side, and the bottom. I have 64w of pc light over my jbj nanocube. Is that enough light? Thanks for everyone's help! Link to comment
Kogut
It'll probably die in a short while. That's not enough light to keep SPS. Agree w/ the other 2. Link to comment
brahm
WTF, 64w's over a 10 gallon tank IS PLENTY for a Montipora Digita. It will do FINE, may turn brown but it will do fine just look at the polyps open in the picture. Link to comment
xtremeyolks
Hmm well I hope it survives. That pic was taken when I only had a 32w csl retrofit over the tank. Had it under that 32w for 3 weeks. Now I have 2 32w retrofits so hopefully it will do even better. Thanks for all your help! Link to comment
samwoo2go
dude, I think I have the same thing... Check it out. Close up it has little clear tenicles with brownish polyps all over. But I think the Zoos are sting the crap out of him. Link to comment
brahm
no, you have a dead porities. Link to comment
samwoo2go
damn you gotta make that sound so harsh. and its not dead, btw, I can see tiny little polyps coming out of it where the zoos are not touching. Link to comment
brahm
ok, then you have a slowly recoving porities they have been known to do that, i had one that looked like it was dead come back after a few months, and recover a 6x4 area..but this was also under 250w DE Link to comment
samwoo2go
btw.. wtf are porities, and you and I are crack heads brahm. Link to comment
