hoodle
I recently got this pump: https://www.amazon.com/Uniclife-Aquarium-Outlets-Accessories-Adjustable/dp/B01EBXI7PG/ref=sr_1_10?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1527635043&sr=1-10&keywords=air+pump because a) it was cheap and b) it came with everything needed. While setting it up, I noticed that it would run with the check valve or with the air stone, but not both. Is this because the pump is too weak? Are air stones necessary? Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
It sounds like your air pump is too weak, or the check valve is restricting flow in some way? What is your goal with the air pump? If it's for circulation in a tank, you don't need an air stone. If it's being used in a skimmer, you will need one for the fine bubbles. Quote Link to comment
hoodle
I just needed circulation. I guess I'll ditch the air stone Quote Link to comment
hoodle
If I put the air pump over the tank, I'll be fine without a check valve, right? Quote Link to comment
