Was cleaning the old tank, found a 12 head colony of candy cane that was getting damaged by a green mushroom. Moved him into the new tank even though it had not yet cycled. Took a few hours, and opened up again.

Dosed  8.45oz BioSpira (that finally came in the mail) to kick start the biological filter - even though I had live sand, I wanted an extra kick. Added 48 drops of Dr Tim’s ammonia. Ran water quality tests…

Ammonia 2.0
Nitrite 0.25
Nitrate 10
Salinity 1.020
pH 7.89
Alk 14
Ca 500
Mg 1200
Phosphate 0

Checked water quality again, the bio filter is clearly already working. Added Algae Barn Pioneer Pods (3 species) 4000+ pods. Turned off the filtration, only left the powerhead on.

Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20

Before the lights came on in the morning, moved a few zoa and paly frags over from the old tank. Once the lights came on and the polyps started to open, I was very impressed with their color under the new tank’s lights.
