AlmightyJoshaeus
Hello all! I am curious...how do you divide/'frag' caulerpa? I have heard it can 'bleed' to death if done wrong, so I want some advice. Thanks! (PS...the caulerpa I am seeking to divide is some C. prolifera in my mother's saltwater tank...I want to take some of the thriving prolifera for my own 3 gallon I am setting up) Quote Link to comment
tdannhauser30
Ive never had problems with just ripping it and transplanting. You might have some die off but IME it wont all die and will regrow. 1 Quote Link to comment

Subsea
First, it will not bleed to death. Yes, some white sap will ooze from runners when tendrils are cut. This is not a problem. Just do it. I just did thin some out that was planted two weeks ago. It is much more attractive when pruned. second picture is a 55G growout tank that needs pruning. 1 Quote Link to comment
