sublunary
Apparently science has known this for ages, but it's news to me - most starfish have compound eyes on the ends of their arms! I got a link to this article through the QM newsletter and thought it was so cool I just have to share. http://flavible.com/starfish-can-see-dark-among-amazing-abilities/ I seriously thought they were unsighted and got around based solely on other senses. I'm almost disappointed in myself for being so wrong. 1 Quote Link to comment
KNelson
Too cool! Fortunately all the hundreds of tiny snails that keep popping up in my tank are so small that my sand sifter takes them whole do I don't have to see that stomach ? Quote Link to comment
BlennyBoi
yeah, its true. they're only simple eyes, can only distinguish between light and dark. this is true of jellyfish too Quote Link to comment
