Media basket in that tank would probably be better, then you can use media such as carbon, purigen etc in it, and use filter floss which is easier to change out. I am personally not a huge fan of socks, so I might be a bit biased..

Socks are dirty

Always stay dirty

And are expensive.

They take up valuable room

They are cash flow only for the tank manufacture

Smrt  I mean Smart

For an AIO like that I’d say the media basket.  I have two InTank baskets on my JBJ 45 and love it.  Filter floss on top and a bag of carbon in each.  I would recommend running Chemipure Blue.  Out of all the Chemipures I would say it’s the best (from personal experience over years of all the chemipure’s).  You’ll get a bunch of answers about what you should put in it, but I think most people would say for this tank a basket is best.  Depending on how your parameters are will depend on what you put it in the basket.

I got the im25g. I got 1 free basket so on one side I use the basket and the other side the sock.

I like how everything collects in the sock, nothing gets passed it but cleaning them sucks and they are $13 cdn each to replace!

So I'm planning on replacing the socks I switch out each week with a basket.

I rinse mine really well while scrubbing (like hand washing clothes)

I then soak it in water and hydrogen peroxide. After a day I drain and redo.

Then I rinse it and air dry.

Some throw them in the washing machine with some bleach- no soap. I'd do that but I'm not running my washer for 1 sock- hydro is too expensive here to run 1 sock.
