superbow
Originally posted by Angel Nah man, that second pic is of an amphipod. First one looks like he is trying to eat a molt. You sure that first picture is all one piece not a pod trying to eat a molt, I think lol I guess its that big pincher that made me think mantis. Thanks Link to comment
Angel
I just noticed that and edited accordingly. It is a molt, of what, I will let someone else answer as I do not have molts like that. Link to comment
taketz
Looks like a molt of a pistol shrimp to me. NOTE: The extreme difference in claw sizes. If it makes you feel better, 100% sure that molt isn't a mantis molt. ~ Link to comment
just dave
That is a pistol shrimp molt. Link to comment
CrocoDillon
taketz is probably right, mantis dont have claws... but spearers or smashers. Link to comment
NorthStar
Its a pistol-shrimp molt. My pistol shrimps look just like it. The larger claw is the one that makes the 'snapping' noise. I was sorried I had Mantis(s) until I found the little dudes too! V.Cool.... if you use nightvision goggles (or a cam with this mode) you can watch them come out at night. Link to comment
