ps2cho
So I own a Sony A5000 and my wife has a Nikon D5000. I can't seem to come close to the color balance the Nikon can do. Both have a 18-55mm 3.5-5.6/f lens. The Sony a5000 is just really glue. I've tried manual ISO on the Sony and it still comes out extremely blue. Is it just not in the same league for aquarium photography, or is there more tweaking I need to do? Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
Does the sony have a custom white balance setting? See if it does, if it does tinker with those settings to hone it in. Nikon has pretty good white balance settings especially with the models that can customize it. I shoot in RAW at 10000K WB with my nikon d610 and tweak it in a photo editor (lightroom 5) 1 Quote Link to comment
ps2cho
I think I just figured it out -- I went into Paint.NET and realized it didn't have much, so I went online and found a plugin back that contains a TON of additional features:https://forums.getpaint.net/index.p...plugin-pack-for-pdn-v406-updated-feb-15-2017/As soon as I got the color balance adjusted, it made a huge difference! 1 Quote Link to comment
DaveFason
You should be able to adjust the WB manually in the menu system as well. I found 5400-6100 works really well on the Sony cameras. -Dave 1 Quote Link to comment
