Pjanssen
What's happening here? Too much light? Not enough light? here's the history. The coral sits on the sand. A couple of months ago I noticed it turning white. It was getting hit with about an hour of natural sunlight from a nearby window. I moved it over about 3 inches where the sunlight never hit, and tried to be mindful to keep the curtains drawn in the afternoon when the sun hit. With a new tank build, I all but ignored this tank-just fed the fish every other day and the corals once or twice a week. It always had good extension and ate. I guess at first I thought that it was coloring back up, but now I realize that what I thought was red returning is actually brown. Water params: dKh 9.1 cal 400 mag 1420 pH 8.4 temp79 salinity 1.026 I'd really like to save this one. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Can you post a pic? White usually indicates bleaching. What light is it under? Brains normally like moderate light. Also nitrate and phos levels? 1 Quote Link to comment

Clown79
That may be too low of light. The blues should be higher. How long have they been under the light at that percentage? Quote Link to comment

Clown79
What light is it and size of tank. Browning is usually due to lack of light. 35% is usually where ppl start the acclamation at and slowly increase it. Depending on the actual light, tank size will determine where your light should be. I have 2 tanks, 2 different lights. 10g blues are 100% and whites 40% 15g blues are at 85% and whites 24% Quote Link to comment
