apex003
I have 2x36w PC over my 18g Via Aqua and I want to replace the stock white bulb b/c I think it looks too yellow and it seems that corals do and look best under 10K or 20K. Which do you suggest and is there a particular brand that you like? I'm looking at Coralife, since they're at my LFS. Is it correct that 20K will be more blue than 10K? Any other differences? Travis
yes, the 20k is bluer than the 10k but, the coraline algea won't grow a good as the 10k. Coralife, IMO, is an OK brand. HTH!!! Link to comment

jaguilar
if you're talking about pc bulbs, then you won't find any with a 20k color temp. only the metal halides come in 20k. the highest you'll find for pc's is 10k. i have a 10k bulb on my tank that i got from (www.hellolights.com) along with a dual actinic from current usa. there isn't a hint of yellow in my tank, the 10k is a crisp white. if you want to see what it looks like, check out my tank thread: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=37352 this will give you a good idea of what 10k is supposed to look like. Doc Shake
Coalife has made 20k NO bulbs for years. Maybe they just did a roll out with PCs. That sure would be cool. Link to comment
