Purigen Reactor, Fluidized or Not?

So, I'm building three hang on the side reactors (GFO, Carbon, and Purigen) for the 29 gal AIO tank I'm building. I know that the GFO should be allowed to tumble and the carbon should have only a very slow motion so it doesn't grind itself into fines but I am having trouble finding info on the proper way to set up the Purigen reactor. Will the Purigen grind itself down or does it benefit from staying fluidized in the reactor?
