Narkon
Ok, my real question is tank size. 1. Is 150 DE good enough to growout sps and clams? 2. What size tank with a 150 DE MH is good to use as a grow out tank? 3. What size tank is good if using 250 DE? One of my concerns is how fast evaporation happens. Is the single MH good enough for just growing SPS coral? Link to comment
nalbar
1. yes 2. 24L X 24W X 16T 3. 24L X 24W X 20T yes, it is a concern but its managable. if you keep tanks you have to learn to live with evaporation. yes a single bulb is good, you just have to keep the tank small ( 24 X 24, depth is determined by bulb watts), a 250w can go pretty deep but for a prop tank you dont want deep tanks because you dont want to go to the limit of the bulb. nalbar Link to comment
MrKrispy
I have a 250W DE over my 20L, I get about 2.5gal / week evaporation. That is my display tank, not a frag tank. Link to comment
jmt
I have a 150w over my 15L (24x12x12). SPS grows fine. Link to comment
