Figster
Hello all, its been I while since I've posted any reef updates and I've finally convinced the wife that we needed a bigger tank (I told her it would make her favorite clownfish very happy ). So I Started a new build that took 2 months to finally get any livestock into it, so here's my new project! So after Scouring the internet for what I wanted to do this was my plan. I knew the Petco dollar per gallon sale was happening so I picked up one of those 40g breeders they had (though those tanks are actually 48 gal, don't know why they call them 40, but I don't make the rules lol). Now that I had the tank, time for elbow grease to make a stand. So I had some free 2x4's lying around, pic pretty much describe itself. Panels and trim are up! Link to comment

vlangel
It looks great. What size was your prior tank? It looks like your birdsnest grew well in the old tank. And the clownfish do look happy! :-) Link to comment
Figster
I had a 20g hex and aquaclear filter. It's supposed to be green but it is my first sps so yeah it went through the ringer as I was learned how bad alk swings are Link to comment
vlangel
Well, its still living so it will probably color up when it settles in your new tank. Link to comment
Figster
This was their home not too long ago, things were getting a little crowded. Also yup I'm very happy it's alive, I'm really hoping it colors back up with more stable water. Link to comment
Weetabix7
That hex tank actually really pretty, but yeah, crowded. Very nice to see the new one up and going!! Link to comment
vlangel
I would not be wanting to keep the glass clean in the hex! Link to comment
reef-luva
Sweet new tank and the stand is awesome. The old hex was very cool as well but as you had said, it'll get crowded fast.... Link to comment
