carlosrivi
I need some help narrowing down my choice on lights for my Via Aqua 6 with the stock hood. I would only like to have live rock and a few low light corals in my tank so I don't need a ton of light. I want to keep the stock hood on because I like it. Where the factory light sits the dimensions are: 15' x 3/12 x 3. This limits my lighting choices I know. I looked at three different setups. -I would love this for the price. Could I keep low light corals with this? Since the ballast is inside the hood would I need a fan? Hellolights 13w retro I also looked at Hello lights single 28w retro - know this would need a fan. I'm sure this would be enough for some low light corals. They also said it's closer to 32w. However would I need a cooler as well? The last retro kit I looked at was: Britelights 2x13w retro kit This is the best value. It also has remote mount ballasts, which I was told would aid in the heat build up. Like I said I want to keep my stock hood setup, similar to the nano cube design with eclipse style filter system. So in your opinion given what I want to do with my Via Aqua 6 what would you recommend? Link to comment

carlosrivi
I think I may have found my ideal light set up 32w CustomSeaLife 14" SmartLite Retrofit Kit I t has a remote ballast as well. I'm still wondering how much of a heat issue I might have. -Any tips though would be appreciated. Link to comment
MattGecko
Throw on a small fan to exhaust the heat. A 32W 50/50 retro is the best choice. Link to comment
