jimpruitt
I took my light fixture off my tank today, and it was so hot I couldn't hold it. Is this normal? It's a 2x13watt fixture that is 4in X 10in. Link to comment
bobioden
Did you turn it OFF before you took it off your tank? Link to comment
jimpruitt
No. I had no idea it would be that hot until it was in my hand. I couldn't just drop it at that point. Link to comment
scd
You need a fan. The heat can really shorten the life of your ballast. I hooked a regular computer fan to a multiple setting ac adapter from radio shack and have that hooked up to the same timer as my light... It keeps the light (2x55 watt pc) cool to the touch.
