Davidd Posted August 23, 2004 Share Posted August 23, 2004 what do you think would be better for a 6 gallon, 4 13w pc's, or 2 28w pc's... they'd both be about the same watts, but which one would be better in the long run (heat, replacement bulbs, other stuff...)? is that too many watts? I'd like to be a ble to keep sps in the future when I'm good and experienced... Link to comment
carlosrivi Posted August 24, 2004 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Well from what I've heard so far 28w bulbs run cooler than 13w. I'm also looking in to both on my Via Aqua 6 gal. I know I'lll need fans either way. However keeping the stock hood 15x3 1/2" limits my choices and I still need to cram a fan in there as well. Link to comment
MattGecko Posted August 25, 2004 Share Posted August 25, 2004 With (2) 28W or (2) 32W you will be able to keep lower light SPS (monti cap, digi. and others). With a dual retrofit kit you will only have 1 ballast to deal with. I started with a dual 32W on a minibow 7 with good results. Link to comment
