brent245
I've been out of the saltwater hobby for about 10 years. I'm seeing now many people are using only a protein skimmer, a bunch of live rock, and a powerhead. I'm considering a 20g xtra tall tank in a Fowlr configuration and would like just A couple fish/ cleaning crew, live rock, and a good growing environment for coraline algae. What is the optimum setup for a low maintenance system? Link to comment
Mariaface
Probably really good flow, strong lights, lots of regular water changes, and macro algae? Link to comment
brent245
But is that optimal? I'm just looking for the best low maintenance filtration setup possible. If I need a filter and skimmer so be it, no sumps though. Link to comment
Mariaface
Really depends on what you were planning to keep in here. I'd get a filter, HOB at least, with the ability to add carbon and stash a controllable heater in there. Link to comment
brent245
Probably a couple clowns, 6 or so blue legged crabs, a shrimp, snails. That's it really. Link to comment
