Willdog2323
Hi I am new to the forum and I am planning on setting up a pico reef I have kept a 28 gallon fowlr a year back but that is the extent of my knowledge. I have been doing a ton of research for about a month now and I am planning on getting a JBJ picotope. I have a couple of questions one how often and large water changes do you do I am planning on doing 50% weekly but is that enough two I have a 0.5-1 gallon tank lying around already is there any way I could make that into some sort of mini sump three is doing water changes enough to restore the nutrients/elements for corals is not how do you recommend I dose my tank four if I were to upgrade my light any recomendations on what to get. Tkpico
I do 1 gallon water changes every 1-2 weeks without any issues, I also use the AC70 HOB. I've seen pictures of people drilling the bottom of the Picotope so it is definitely possible. I have a 10 gallon sump lying around and I've been debating for some time about drilling my pico. The only down side is that the plumbing looks huge inside it, Here is a good example for you. Picotope Sump Quote Link to comment
calabdiver
I have a similar setup and process I'm running the AC50 with Phosguard, and Purigen in the filter but will be switching to Macro algae. I also do a 1 gal. water change once a week. Quote Link to comment
