cherokee2871 Posted December 22, 2016 Author Share Posted December 22, 2016 The orangish growth goes away when I stop dosing carbon so I haven't thought about vibrant for that but might pick some up for a bit of hair algae. I have to wait till after Christmas though. I also need to add nitrate as mine are too low I'm running carbon passively in a back chamber. I wonder if the same thing will happen to me? cherokee2871 Posted January 8, 2017 Author Share Posted January 8, 2017 Had to remove my Damsel and take him back to the store he was extremely territorial and claimed the whole tank. He killed both my sexy shrimp. Got two Blue Chromis instead. Got a Yasha Goby and Candy Striped Pistol Shrimp pair and they are awesome don't see the shrimp much but the Goby has a ton of personality. Anyway pic dump. Link to comment

Yeah they aren't staying either just wanted something to keep something in the tank. I've got a clown pair and a flame angel coming soon. The chromis will be returned to the store also. That will give me four fish in the tank I think that will be plenty for my tank. Link to comment

So now I have two tanks display has to go fishless for 10 weeks for the Ich to die off. Not a huge deal but could've definitely gone without it. Treating the fish with Cupramine lost my Yasha Goby. Not to Ich, he decided to vacate his watery residence for a new home on my granite countertop (the tank had a lid). Anyway tank and corals are doing great. Link to comment

I still have both my Green Banded Gobies. so definitely another Yasha Goby and shrimp pair. Hopefully a pair of Phantom Clowns. Options are limited with a small tank. I want something that will swim around the tank that I can keep in a 25. I had a pair of chromis but took them back to the LFS. Link to comment
holy carp Posted February 8, 2017 Share Posted February 8, 2017 Absolutely. I feed them Mysis and Oyster eggs mixed with tank water spot fed. I alternate those two. I do feed the tank oyster feast as well at night one drop with an MP10 for displacement around the tank. The funny thing is its recessing on one side but has three new baby heads on the other so I'm at a loss. Just testing with the skimmer off to see if this helps this one as well as how my other corals react with it off. I maintain 20% water changes weekly for nutrient export. I thought I might be starving them a little with weekly water changes and running a skimmer 24/7. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Do you have pictures of your acan's tissue recession? I've had mine stay retracted for a few days at a time, but haven't seen tissue recede like I've seen on some other corals. I feel like it is sometimes correlated to when my phosphates get high. If you're talking about this one, then I think you're fine as long as recession doesn't spread to any other heads. If there's dying tissue, a dip in CoralRx might be prudent... Link to comment
