kznsky14
Could someone please identify this for me? Will it continue to grow into something useful or is it just taking up space? Thanks. Link to comment

Hisdudeness
It looks more like Ulva or Sea Lettuce. It makes great food for herbivorous fish or other inhabitants, and will grow into long blades with the ruffled edges you can already start to see. Its a common algae along the CA coast here. I understand that it is also edible and sometimes see asian tourists collecting bags of it for sushi. Link to comment
Angel
Looks like Ulva to me also. Yes, it is good in salads and soups! Link to comment
mogurnda
Yep, looks like Ulva. In my experience, it does great when nitrate and phosphate are high, but slows way down when the water's cleaner. Link to comment
