Mnesarchus
??? I have a 2 x 55w Powercompact ballast on my 10g. Is there a way to wire it so that one of the bulbs can be turned on and off without affecting the other one? I want the lights to turn on and off indepentantly. Is this possible? Thanks in advance Link to comment
Dave ESPI
if it is an independant ballast ( ie; 2) U can do so. If it is a single ballast running both, you might be able to "Daisy Chain" one of them to a toggle switch. U night have to put in a step-down transformer that will run with one bulb as all the power (depending on how it is wired) may over drive the single bulb shortening the life of it. GET A TRAINED CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN if U are not sure what U are doing. those ballast can hold a charge sometimes and knock U fer a loop in space... ( well at least a few feet in yer living room) Hope that helps.??? Link to comment
