Tanked Posted August 14, 2004 Share Posted August 14, 2004 I bought some coral the other day my lfs is selling as "velvet rock". Very similar in appearance to green star polyps and according to the salesman, require no special care much like gsp's. My online searching under the query "velvet rock" has turned up various species of montipora but I have yet to see anything that looks like the species I bought. Anyone know wtf I'm talking about or have I shot myself in the foot by purchasing some form of mystery coral? Link to comment

Thanks for the warning about the rapid proliferation of this species. I guess I'll have to find a more aggressive species of coral to keep it in check. Yellow polyps anyone?!!! Link to comment
