Simulated Fish
So I finally moved my clownfish Henry into the 45g this morning. He hid for maybe 10 to 15 minutes then came out. After a couple cautious approaches towards the blood orange clown he stopped swimming back to the caves. Now they have been hanging out together all day never more than 3 or 4 inches apart. Everything I read said takes awhile for them to pair but these guys have been hanging out all day with no issues after just 30 minutes and no really aggression I could see. Am I really lucky or does it normally take awhile before the aggression starts? Picture of Henry and the new Blood Orange Clown! Link to comment
CronicReefer
I had a similar experience with mine but you will see the aggression soon enough. Your clowns are still juveniles so there is no established female either. Link to comment
Stephosaurus
+1 on what CronicReefer said. Once the female is established, there will be some agression as she tries to establish her dominance over the male. You can tell when they're starting to pair when they do this weird swimming on their side and twitching motion. Then they will be buddies again. Link to comment
Droy008
Just wait until you see your clown having a small epileptic seizure, then you'll know they've paired. Link to comment
