dattack
Just finish setting up my 25 gallon tank. Is it a nano? Anyhows, I tried to make this project as cheap as possible because I spent far too much money on my 110G. This tank is for my sister anyhows. The live rock has no coralline coverage because it's been sitting in my sump for 9 months without light but it will pretty soon. I used most of the equipment left over from my other tank. Equipment: 10 gallon sump with turbofloater. Return pump Maxijet 1200 Acrylic 25 gallon tank (bought used for $30) Stand and canopy as you can tell was constructed from that same cheap stuff as the bookshelves. I tried to paint the inside with some polyurethane. ($50) 1x96 W 50/50 PC. Link to comment
Sahin
A very well done job. It looks very neat. I really like it. I have a 24G myself, though it looks like my tank is slightly more shallow and longer. Whats the dimension of that tank? What lighting are you using on that tank? Link to comment
dattack
I believe it's a 36 x10x15. It's very slim and is lit by only one 96W PC at this point. I will probably just keep some mushrooms and some polyps only. Want it to be low maintenance. Link to comment
Sahin
Cool. My tank is 36x12x14 so its roughly the same size and volume. I think it'll be alright with the 96w for mushrooms and polyps. You could keep some other low light hard corals too. Add 1 or 2 small fish, and you got a very low maintenance system. Good luck. Post some close pics if possible. Link to comment
Fant
You may want to consider changing out that maxi jet pump that your using as a return. Using powerheads under head pressure can wear them out very quickly, and could also cause the pump to burn up. A small mag drive pump would be cheap and more reliable. Link to comment
dattack
These maxijets are the best. Had one running as a return for a freshwater tank for a year and still going. Cost only $15 too. Link to comment
HuBu
wow nice tank and stand. where did you get those maxijets for $15? Link to comment
dattack
Get on www.exoticfish.com and go on their mailing list. They usually have the pump 2 for $35 . At certain times they have it 2 for $30. I think the current running special for all maxijets right now is 2 for $35. Link to comment
