I was looking at the Reef Life Support Systems DB8-i Internal Protein Skimmer. I have read some good stuff about them, but I was wondering if anybody has one and what they thought about it. I know its not a nano, but it seems like a lot of people with experience are on this site. Thank you for your time. Link to comment
disaster999 Posted October 27, 2015 Share Posted October 27, 2015 RLSS makes good skimmer and Im sure it would work well with your system. Ive never used RLSS before, but I do have Skimz Oval skimmer on my 160gal tank. Its a similar configuration as the RLSS where the pump inside the skimmer like the DB8 and the volute is built inside the skimmer body. It uses a smaller pump than the DB8 (DC5000 vs DC6000) and its doing a hell of a job skimming my tank. The DC pumps are near silent. If the silencer is similar to the Skimz, you could barely hear it gurgle. Link to comment
